Steelers to tag Woodley
The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to place the franchise tag on linebacker LaMarr Woodley.
This was the final year of Woodley’s rookie contract, a deal that he has certainly outperformed and then some.
He has become one of the team’s top defenders and most feared pass rushers, taking advantage of the attention focused on James Harrison.
Woodley is one of the team’s top blitzers, a major part of their defense and a terror for opposing quarterbacks.
The linebacker said that he isn’t thrilled with the idea of the franchise tag, but isn’t going to worry about it, either.
